Fourth Newsletter for the Masters Hockey Tournament 2016.
Hi all you lovely people out there.
Time is really getting tight.
This newsletter has a number of deadlines in it and we ask that you adhere to them so that we can have all our ducks in a row for the brochure etc.
First point of business is the rumours abounding with regard to Osner Resorts.
There is no truth in the rumours that they are under liquidation, substandard or any other stupid lies that someone is spreading. I have had discussions with management at Osner and they are horrified to hear this. They have made it clear that they will prosecute anyone if they can ascertain who started these rumours.
They have in fact upgraded most of their establishments and their updated website is almost ready to launch. We will link it to our website.
I have attached a disclaimer from them to this newsletter and it is also on our website.
UMPIRE COSTS – the A league will need to pay R1000.00 per team for the cost to have graded umpires at their games.
All other teams requesting the use of umpires for their games will need to pay R150.00 per game.
These monies must be paid up front with your tournament levy and clearly stated how many games you require umpires for.
TEAM LISTS – Attached is a list for your team names, manager etc and team colours. Download available here
ACCOMODATION – It is a requirement of the Disaster Management team in East London to have a list of accommodation being used in East London for the tournament. Please let me have the names of the establishments you are staying at.
COCKTAIL PARTY AND FINAL DINNER – Final numbers for those who have additional people wanting to attend the two functions that are NOT included on your team lists. There is a limited amount of seats available so book early. First come first served.
PAYMENTS – All payments MUST be done by the deadline date. Failure to do this impacts heavily on our plans to make payments and deposits.

What a bunch of stars – Duffy and the team from Northerns Masters have pledged
R10 000.00 to Greensleeves, our charity of choice. A really super gesture and great start from the Masters family.
The meet and greet, agm and manager’s meeting will all take place on Friday 5 August at Buffalo Club. The club has gone out of its way to provide music, the DJ is from the old Numbers Disco and knows exactly what type of music is needed to make a memorable first day/evening for all our visitors. Lots of cold refreshments for the evening will add to the superb atmosphere. Food will be available to buy from their very efficient catering section on site.
Mark Taljard will have samples on the website of gear to purchase for the tournament.
Please keep an eye open and place your orders timeously.
